Viper Video Feature

A Youtube Video that Throdle shot in 2019 about the Viper has finally come out. The funny part is that this video came out exactly a week after I sold the Viper. In total I had the viper for 2.5 years and put several thousand miles on the car. I even used it as my daily driver for a few months and found it super practical to live with. I really enjoyed my time with the car and I will definitely have to get a Gen V Viper some day. But for now I am going to move on towards other interesting bucket list cars that I have always wanted to own.… Read the rest

Spa-Francorchamps

462337_FB

A couple of slow laps (3:17s) from Spa – unfortunately I did not get good video on day 1 when the weather was much better. My theoretical best was 3:11 which I am pretty happy with for a FWD GTI hatchback rented from RSR Spa.

Eau Rouge really is as difficult as they say and the track has a bunch of corners that require way more trust in the car and your abilities than I had for my first time there. This was my first international track day and Book-A-Track did a great job. It was a bit weird to only pass on the left but they ran a great event and I liked the open track (non-session) aspect of it.… Read the rest

Lotus Evora S IPS on track – Take Two

In my previous post about the Evora S on track I spent a lot of time complaining about the 400 treadwear tires that the car was on. I was getting a lot of tire lock under braking and the car generally did not have enough grip on the track. Luckily I was then able to replace the tires with a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on the optional forged “sport” wheels for the Evora and hit Laguna with the GGLC once more.

As you can see from the video I was able to pull a 1:48 lap without really maximizing any of the turns.… Read the rest

Circuit of the Americas Facility Review

Michael locks a wheel at T12
I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Formula 1 US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas last week and want to write up my thoughts after the event. This is not a review of the race itself but rather a review of the venue from a fans point of view and how it compares to other race events I have been to such as IndyCar (Infineon), NASCAR (Infineon) and the 2002 F1 USGP at Indianapolis.

Getting to and from the track

Having read nightmare predictions about parking at the race I decided to use the free park and ride shuttle from the Travis Expo center instead of shelling out $200 for a parking pass.… Read the rest

Back up and Running

Celebrating the fact that the Seven is up and running with an autocross video from Marina. The car still has an intermittent misfire that I am trying to iron out but it is running well so far.
