The Mallya Collection

As an Indian, I had heard of Vijay Mallya long before he hit the Formula 1 spotlight as the owner of the Force India F1 team. A true captain of Indian industry, his other hats include accomplished businessman (chairman of United Breweries group and Kingfisher airlines), former politician and enthusiastic sports fan (owns the Bangalore Royal Challengers cricket team, the East Bengal football team and the URB Breeders). While I always knew that he was fond of cars, I did not know that he was in fact a serious car collector and his Mallya Collection includes nearly 300 vehicles spread through 4 locations around the world.… Read the rest

Got my tickets

The Trooper

I just used the Iron Maiden Fanclubs internet pre-sale to score some tickets to two shows from the Somewhere Back in Time tour. I will be in the pit at San Antonio (May 21) and in the Orchestra seats at Irvine (May 31). If all goes well I will also be getting pit tickets for the May 28th show at Concord. While these should be Maiden concerts #3, 4 and 5 for me, this will be the first time I will get to experience the pit at a Maiden show.

The Tesla Roadster – the perfect Elise?

I had the opportunity to visit Tesla Motors on a tour organized by SFF1 and would like to write up some of my thoughts about the company, its technology and their first car. This is going to be from the point of view of a petrol head engineer who daily drives an Elise – take it how you will :-).
