Glad you found the post helpful. Answers are below

1) I was only there on Sunday but usually Friday is practice and Saturday is qualifying. Friday is typically much less crowded which means there is less of a crowd to fight through to get autographs etc... I personally will be attending on friday this year.

2) There was almost no passing at the track which meant that it didnt matter where you sat. I was at the NASCAR race last weekend and all the passing happened at Turn 7 and the Hairpin at T11. Sitting in the grandstand did have the advantage of better facilities and you could clearly see what is happening in the pits which is where all the action is on Fri/Sat anyway.

3) The autograph sessions are part of a separate package and you can usually upgrade to them at the track as well.

4) I met drivers both in the garage and the pits. The pits were especially fun as the practice was delayed due to couldy weather which meant that the drivers were just hanging around and were happy to sign stuff. You can also wait at the pit box after the session and they often sign stuff when they leave.

5) The event schedule will be posted on their website close to the event and typically you really only need to get there say an hour before the events as they will be wheeling the cars around and you get a great close up view and maybe see some drivers.

Thank you for this blog. I am a huge Indy Car fan , I have always watched Indy races on TV. I live 3 hours from Sonoma and will be at church the day of the race. I have a few questions if you would be so kind to help me. I will be there for either Friday or Saturday - due to work may not be able to make both days - just trying to get to the track, for the best fan experience possible !

1. What happens on the Friday compared to the Saturday? I would get a garage pass for either day and would want to catch the autograph session along with the Q&A.

2. Where is the best place to sit I have never been to this track before ?

3. Is the autograph session included in the garage pass or does it cost extra ? How does the garage pass and the autograph session work?

4. Hows the best way to meet the most drivers ?

5. Should I expect to be at the track all day or is it certain hours ?

Any other tips would be great - thanks again
